Olympus Announces Two New Digital Cams

Olympus has announced two new cameras the 1030 SW and 850 SW. these two cameras are ruggedized against falls, water immersion and cold. The cameras are slated to be available in the UK in February 2008 for $623 and $448 respectively.There is no word at this time on availability and pricing in the U.S. at this time. The amounts above are converted from British pounds. The cam has a 3.6x wide zoom and has a 10.1 MP sensor and a 2.7-inch LCD.

Sony Cyber-shot H3 Review

The Sony Cyber-shot H3 has a 1/2.5-inch CCD sensor with 8.1 MP and a 10x optical zoom. The rear LCD is a 2.5-inch screen and the camera has HDTV output with an optional cable or dock. Other features include image stabilization, face detection and more.DPReview says the pros for the camera include reliable point and shoot performance, good image quality, good zoom and a good value among others. Cons for the camera include no wide angle, slow focus in low light, mediocre build quality, and optional stuff required for HDTV out.

Canon PowerShot A720 Reviewed

DPReview recently posted a review of the Canon PowerShot A720 digital camera. The camera has 8MP resolution and uses optical image stabilization. The zoom is a 6x optical zoom.ISO is up to 1600 and face detection technology is integrated as well. DPReview says that the A720 pros include good image quality, accurate metering, simple interface, and good price among others.

CNET Reviews Samsung L830 Digital Camera

CNET recently reviewed the Samsung L830 digital camera which has a 8.1 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom and weighs in at a mere 4.7 ounces.CNET says the pros of the camera are manual exposure mode, manual color controls, face detection and easy to access basic functions. The cons include no aperture or shutter priority modes and noisy pictures.

Sony Europe Announces CyberShot S730

Today Sony Europe announced the latest digital camera in its CyberShot line called the S730. The camera has a 7.2MP CCD and a 2.4-inch LCD screen.Optical zoom is 3x and the ISO sensitivity is up to ISO 1250. Multi-point autofocus helps shoot sharper images.

The A700 includes a wireless remote for the shutter and controlling other functions of the camera.Other features include ISO 3200-6400 and high ISO noise reduction among others. Canon PowerShot G9 Review Review

Macworld has reviewed the Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera. Macworld says that the G9 is out of phase with the market place. It costs more than other point-and-shoot cameras and is priced in the same realm as many DSLR cameras.They say that the improvements of the G9 over the G7 are minimal. The G9 has two more megapixels, that no one will miss and a larger 3-inch LCD that takes away from the optical viewfinder.

Sure adding a lens so you can use the thing will run you a hundred of so more, but still this is a good deal.

DPReview has the Fuji Finepix S8000fd up for review today. The camera features a huge 18x optical zoom with a 27mm to 486 mm equivalent range. The sensor is 8MP and the camera can do ISO6400 at 4MP.Other features include face detection, fast 15fps shooting at 2MP and uses xD and SD memory cards. The pros fort eh camera are great zoom range, versatile, bright output, good detail, effective image stabilization, and good electric viewfinder among other features.

The LCD is a 2.5-inch TFT and the camera measures in at 5.4 x 3.6 x 2.7 inches.Pros for the E-510 include lightweight and compact design, dust removal, and good value among others. Cons for the camera include less dynamic range than competitors, serious highlight clipping in bright days, non-titling LCD, and only three focus points among others.
