CNET recently reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd digital camera. This cam has a 7.2MP CCD and light sensitivity of ISO 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600. The cam also has a 4.8x digital zoom and movie mode.
CNET says the good points are cute design, compact, face detection and reasonable price. The bad points include heavy lens distortion, so-so image quality and slow performance.

The verdict is that you can get better image quality with similarly priced cameras, but they won’t be as cute as the Fuji. CNET gave the camera a 6.6 out of 10 rating.
Via CNET

The list helps shoppers not familiar with digital cameras know what to look for. The best lightweight camera is listed as the Sony DSC T2.

The best medium price camera for fast moving subjects is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3-K. the best high-end camera for serious photography fans is the Nikon D80.

The final camera on the list is the Canon PowerShot A570 getting the nod for the best camera for first time shooters or capsular photo takers. All the cams seem like good choices, but you can find tons more that will fit the bill for holiday gift giving as well.
Via MSNBC

However, it seems that Dell has one serious deal on a DSLR that may make it in time for a Christmas gift.
Dell is offering the Canon Digital Rebel XT DSLR body only camera for only $382. Sure adding a lens so you can use the thing will run you a hundred of so more, but still this is a good deal.

The cam features face detection, a 12MP sensor, 3x optical zoom, aperture and shutter priority modes and 5fps continuous shooting mode.
Pros for the camera include class leading resolution, slimmer design, super results at low ISO, fast focus and more. Cons for the camera include some noise reduction artifacts at 100 ISO, few external controls and outdated user interface amongst others.

The verdict for the camera is enjoyable with good feel though the camera’s features are nothing to write home about. The camera received the highly recommended award, but the reviewer notes it barely made it.
Via DPReview
