Sanyo's Stylish New Xacti CA6

Sanyo's Stylish New Xacti CA6 Sanyo is one of those companies that everyone's heard of but few people remember when they think of consumer electronics. However, this uniquely shaped camera is something that could certainly engrave Sanyo's name in the minds of photo geeks in the U.S. Its design is partly for ergonomics and partly for water resistance. Most of its boasting comes from its rugged construction, meaning you don't have to be paranoid about damage if you take it to the beach. However, it won't survive being completely immersed in water.

With its design, you'll be able to control everything with one hand. Those amateur directors' hand motions you use to organize your photo op group can now be even more exaggerated. Aside from looking cool, it's a pretty nice cam, with 6 megapixels, MPEG-4 video recording, and SD (or SDHC) memory capacity.
There's also a more impressive zoom that we're used to seeing recently, with 5x optical and 12x digital zoom (up to 60x total). The feature that's most appealing to me is the ability to shoot pictures and video simultaneously. Specifically, you can take a picture in the middle of recording video. If you've ever tried to grab that perfect split-second frame from a video (with sub-par quality) you know how great this ability is.

Check out some more sporty Sanyo cameras.
