New BenQ Camera MP3 Player
Recently BenQ has come out some pretty interesting new cameras. The coolest looking one on the market right now is the DC S30 Music Camera. That’s right along with the standard ability to take picture this device also allows you to organize and play your compatible audio files. The DC S30 is encased in a magnesium alloy casing and tasty-tangerine tone; and features a 3.34 Mega-pixel CCD, 3X optical zoom, and an 180º flip-out LCD screen. It also has MP3 playback, and, what could well be a first for a digital camera, an FM radio. Even better you can listen to the music via the camera's on board speakers.
The camera's colour LCD screen can flip-out a full 180º that gives users the flexibility to capture images from virtually any angle, including self-portraits.

Pentax Optio W10 Review
LetsGoDigital reviews the new Pentax Optio W10 digital cameraQuote: "It seems that Pentax have gotten a taste for photography on and around the water. The Pentax W-series of digital cameras made its debut with the Optio 33WR, which was introduced in 2003, followed by the Optio 43WR. Initially sporting a square design, the series evolved to the current measurements in January 2005, with the introduction of the Optio WP, the WPi, and now the W10 digital camera. As far as design is concerned, the Pentax Optio W10 resembles a standard digital compact camera."

The Olympus Stylus 750
The new Olympus Stylus 750 Digital Camera is quite impressive for a compact camera with its 7.1 megapixel CCD, 5x optical zoom, and Dual Image stabilization and Digital Image stabilization to reduce the chance of blur even for your most challenging shots. The Stylus 750 is the thinnest camera in its class to have a 5x optical zoom which is great for amazing close ups without the need to carry a huge digital SLR everywhere you go. The pocket camera is weatherproof so is perfect for days on the beach, on the ski slopes, or that rainy soccer game.
This camera also features a 2.5" LCD display and shutter speed of up to 4 seconds in Night Scene mode. The camera also has an internal memory of 17MB so you will probably be needing that extra xD-Picture Card. One downside to this camera is there is no way to manually set the exposure, but for casual shooters this may not be a big issue. So if you're looking for a high class compact camera with similar picture quality to a DSLR then this camera is for you.

Single Pixel Digital Camera
A single pixel digital camera? That's right, researchers at Rice University in Houston Texas have developed a prototype camera that uses a single pixel image sensor. But it doesn't look like this technology will be hitting your local Best Buy anytime soon, the prototype takes up several square feet of a large laboratory workbench. Another drawback of the camera is that it takes five minutes for each picture to expose. The process used is called Compressive Sensing light from an image is scattered using a digital micro-mirror device (DMD) and picked up using a single photodiode sensor.
DMDs are most commonly found in movie projectors, they're tiny microchips covered in mirrors and can be tilted back and forth. In this prototype camera the mirrors are randomly oriented and a snapshot of the scattered light is picked up by a photodiode. This process is then repeated several THOUSAND times and the data collected is them assembled into an image.

The New BenQ E720
Earlier this week BenQ introduced a new camera to their award winning line with the new E720. The new camera features a 7 megapixel CCD with a 3x optical zoom and a large crisp 2.5" LCD display. The camera is encased in a sleek brushed aluminum body and features a Super Multi-Coating (smc) Pentax lens.In addition to its luxurious exterior, the E720 is equipped with an array of functions including shake-free mode which prevents image blur due to handshake, 13-scene modes for quick setting adjustments, and continuous movie recording with optical zoom.
"Sometimes design inspiration comes from items we love to look at and touch; for many, this means luxury products such as handbags and fragrances. When I look at the E720, I think of something luxurious." said Manfred Wang, Director of BenQ Lifestyle Design Center. "If you place the E720 vertically, you'll see its resemblance to a fragrance bottle, complete with a luxurious stopper on top."

Olympus FE-170
Olympus has come out with a new ultra-compact digital camera that is recommended for first time photographers and is part of their Fun & Easy series. The new FE-170 is a 6 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5" LCD screen. The camera features a "one button, one function" design as well as simple menu setup that is easy to navigate for new digital camera users. The FE-170 also comes with 10 scene modes for capturing sports, self-portraits, night shots (including fireworks) to name a few. The camera also has a feature that makes shooting close ups easy for beginners called "super-macro".
Because of its terrible performance and mediocre shots, the Olympus FE-170 really isn't worth your time or money. If you really want an inexpensive, easy-to-use snapshot camera, spend the extra $30 and upgrade up to the FE-180. It has all of the good qualities of the FE-170 along with some nicer ones such as rechargeable batteries and a wall charger.

Panasonic Lumix LX-2
We first mentioned the new line of Panasonic Lumix Cameras back in July. Well now we've got the latest scoop on the LX-2 with a review from dpreview. Quote: "Virtually all compact cameras use sensors with a 4:3 aspect ratio (giving a picture shape similar to a standard television). The LX2 has a sensor that is roughly the same height as a standard 7 megapixel CCD, but is considerably wider, giving the option of 16:9 shooting (16:9 is the shape of a widescreen television), and increasing the total number of pixels to just over 10 million."

The Samsung SCH-B600 Camera Phone
It's true cell phones have started to blur the lines between camera and phone, but now Samsung has claimed "the world's first super camera phone." The Samsung SCH-B600 is a fully functional cell phone with an added bonus of a 10 megapixel camera, in fact it looks more like a 10 megapixel camera with the added bonus of a cell phone.Samsung's new SCH-B600 is 6mm thinner and 10g lighter than the 7 megapixel SCH-V770 and sets itself apart from its previous megapixel camera phones by combining mobile TV capability.
The camera phone has all the standard features of a nice camera such as auto-focus, a 2.2" 240x320 LCD display, and video playback at 320x240 and 30fps. The B600 also supports white balance, manual focus, continuous picture-taking, and interval picture-taking functions.

The New Samsung GX-1S
LetsGoDitial has reviewed the new Samsung GX-1S, a new 6.1 megapixel digital SLR.Quote: "Samsung have taken a wise decision by keeping the bayonet identical to that of Pentax. As a result, the Samsung can also be equipped with Pentax lenses, even the very old ones, although it should be said that this will cause a slight loss of functionality, which means you will eventually lose out on a certain degree of user convenience."
"The Samsung GX-1S is delivered as a kit with a Schneider Kreuznach D-Xenon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, which looks suspiciously much like the kit lens that comes with the Pentax models. Either way, it offers an attractive range, which is the equivalent of 28-84mm with a 35mm camera. The focal length multiplier is 1.5x, which is the same as that of the Nikon digital SLR cameras. We had the opportunity to submit the Samsung GX-1S to some extensive testing during a longer period of time. The results can be read in the following Samsung GX-1S digital SLR review. "

The SciTech Retiga 4000RV
The company SciTech has developed the new QImaging Retiga-4000RV CCD digital camera. This camera is designed specifically to preform in low light and high-dynamic-range applications. This advanced camera is in a all-metal, vacuum sealed CCD chamber which provides extreme dynamic range for applications such as chemiluminescence, live-cell imaging, and fluorescence. The camera also has software-selectable regulated cooling which enables precise control in single-degree increments down to -30 °C.
The camera has a 4-megapixel CCD, 12-bit digital output, and a IEEE interface. So unless you need a camera for these specific instances this isn't the camera for you. While a price has not yet been released my guess is this camera is not cheap. So if you're just looking for a camera for holiday pictures look elsewhere.

The New Braun D800
While Braun used to be a household name for bathroom electronics they may soon change. This week they unveiled a new line of digital cameras including the Braun D800. It doesn't seem like anything too special, just a compact camera with a fairly large 2.4" LCD display. The camera comes with a 6.2 megapixel image sensor which can interpolate to produce images at 8MP resolution. But again this is not a very unique camera at all, just a simple camera for first timers, but what do you expect from a new comer.
Aside from the standard point and shoot features the D800 comes equipped with a video and or voice recorder and self timer functions. The camera also only has 32MB of internal memory expandable with a SD memory card.

Pentax X-Chance Concept Camera
Photokina was a success for Pentax. The new Pentax K10Dwas apparently a very popular camera at the show. But Pentax had another very interesting camera on display called the Pentax X-Change.Now you won't see this camera in store anytime soon, right now its just a concept camera. The concept is to create a digital SLR camera with the connivence of a compact camera.
While this camera was originally created in 2002 it has still yet to see store shelves. The camera is built with an ultra-thin body and integrated pop-up flash and interchangeable lenses. The interesting part is that the lenses have integrated CCD image sensors offering a variety of focal lengths.

The Sanyo Xacti CG6
The new Sanyo Xacti CG6 was released at Photokina and for such a small camera it packs quite a punch. Now right away the most noticeable difference about this camera is that is features a vertically oriented design as opposed to a horizontal design. The reason Sanyo has gone with this design is that this camera takes video as well as photos and this design is easier to hold for 80 minutes of record time. The camera features a 6.37 megapixel CCD and a 5x optical zoom. The camera also captures in low-noise with a 9x sensitivity and has a very nice anti-shake feature that can determine the difference between hand trembles and intentional movements. The camera records video as MPEG-4 format and makes it very easy to edit video captured and viewed on the 2n5" LCD display.
