Panasonic Announces Two New HD Camcorders
Today Panasonic announced the HDC-SD5 and HDC-SX5 HD camcorders. Both the cams use AVCHD format and record in 1920 x 1080 full HD. The HDC-SD5 is heralded as the world’s smallest 3CCD full-hd camcorder and it records onto SD/SDHC cards.
The other cam announced today, the HDC-SX5 records onto the SDHC/SD disks as well, but adds the ability to record video directly to 3 inch DVDs. Both cameras include Advanced Optical Image Stabilization, Lecia dicomar lens, intelligent contrast control and HD advanced pure color engine.
These cameras will be released in September with an MSRP of $999.95 for the HDC-SD5 and a MSRP of $899.95 for the HDC-SX5. Is it just me or does it seem like every camera or camcorder launched lately is the world’s first, smallest or best for one reason or another. Panasonic Via I4U News
