New Hitachi Camcorders Record to Blu-ray
Hitachi introduces a couple new camcorders yesterday that will record to Blu-ray disc. The Hitachi BD7H records 1080p full HD onto Blu0ray discs as well as to an internal hard drive. The Hitachi DZ-BD70 only records to tiny 8cm Blu-ray discs, and considering normal Blu-ray media is still hard to come by in my area, I would hate to think how hard to find and expensive to but these special Blu-ray discs will be.
One hour of Blu-ray video can be recorded to a single 8cm Blu-ray disc, media will certainly be a big expense here. The cameras are supposed to go on sale on August 30 in Japan and the camcorders are supposed to hit the U.S. and Europe in October. Via I4U News
