Ricoh Caplio R7 Camera Announced

Caplio_R7_Richo_1.jpgRicoh has announced that the seventh generation of their Caplio R will be released in mid-September. The new camera will have an eight megapixel CCD sensor and a 7x optical zoom.

It’s nice to see small and thin cameras getting decent zoom levels recently. Not too long ago to get a small camera meant 3x optical zoom at most and sometimes no optical zoom at all.

The Caplio R will have a 2.7” LCD, the ability to write to SD and SDHC cards, 24MB of onboard memory, and the ability to record video. The camera will measure in at 99.6x23.3x55mm and weighs 135 grams.
