Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD1000 HD Camcorder


sanyo-xacti-dmx-hd1000.jpgSanyo announced a new HD Camcorder today in the Xacti line called the DMX-HD1000, which has the distinction this week of being the world’s smallest HD camcorder.

The tiny camcorder measures in at 90mm W x 112.6mm H x 54.5 mm D and weighs 268g. As small as the camcorder is it can still record in full 1920 x 1080 HD which is recorded to SDHC video cards.

Video is recoded using the H.264 codec and the photo portion of the camera can shoot images at up so ISO 3200 and 8MP still shots can be recoded while recording movies. The tiny camera even includes a 10x optical zoom. No word on when we will see this camera in the U.S., but it will begin shipping in Japan in mid-September.
