DPReview Hands-on Nikon D3 Preview


nikond3.jpgDPReview has a hands-on preview of the Nikon D3 DSLR camera. The D3 is the latest in the Nikon professional series of digital cameras. The D3 is an FX format camera with a 36 x 23.9mm 12.1 megapixel CMOs sensor.

ISO sensitivity is up to ISO 6400 with 25,600 as a boost option. The D3 also uses 14-bit A/D conversion, dual CF card support, a new image processor and 9 fps continuous shooting.

The full ISO range for the camera is 200-6400, supports DX lenses, fast operation with 12ms start up, a 41ms shutter lag, and the camera uses a 51-point auto focus system. The camera is set for availability in November 2007 at an undisclosed price.
