Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 Announced


microsoftvx7000.jpgMicrosoft announced their latest LifeCam offering today, which is called the VX-7000. Like the other LifeCam webcams, the VX-7000 is optimized for Windows Messenger. The camera is slated for availability in September for $99.99.

The lens uses a glass element and has a 2-megapixel sensor that can record HD video. The VX-7000 can also take still pictures at 7.6-megapixels interpolated. A built-in Windows Live Call button makes video chat sessions a snap.

The lens is a wide-angle design with a 71-degree field of view. All the frequently used controls are easy to find in the LifeCam Dashboard. A one-touch blogging button for Windows Live Spaces allows for easy video blogging. The base is universal and designed to work with virtually all displays.
