Sony HDR-UX7 Camcorder Reviewed

Sony_HDR-UX7.jpgCamCorderInfo has reviewed the Sony HDR-UX7 camcorder, which retails for about $1000. The camcorder records to DVDs at a 1920 x 1080i resolution.

The camera lens has a focal length of 5.4-54mm that is equivalent to 40-400mm, 49-490mm, 40-400mm, and 37-370mm. The camera has an automatic lens shutter that covers the lens so no manual cap is needed.

In the end, the camera has the best controls of any Sony camcorder this year, but Sony used the AVCHD codec for the DVDs, which virtually ensures the DVDs won’t play in your DVD player. CamCorderInfo says this one is a no.
