Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Review
DPReview has posted its latest review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10. The camera has full manual controls with RAW, RAW + JPEG and JPEG image capability. The camera has 10MP and can shoot continuous at 3 fps. The LCD offers live view and swivels as well.Pros for the camera include excellent resolution, bright clear screen, good kit lens, reliable white balance. Cons include a small and dark viewfinder, kit lens is slow, three frame RAW buffer.
The conclusion is that the camera is aimed at the first time DSLR user with a feel and handling like a compact. The problem with the camera is that it is too expensive for beginners and not as good as cameras in its price range form other makers. The cam earns the recommended award.

CNET Reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K
CNET has recently reviewed Panasonics entry level DSLR camera called the Lumix DMC-L10K. The camera has a 10.1MP sensor and a Live MPOS optical sensor style. The camera weighs 16.9 ounces and measures 5.3 x 3.1 x 3.8 inches.Full manual control via two knobs and a supersonic Wave Filter is offered to keep the sensor clean. CNET says the good points are a nice body design and articulated LCD. Bad points are that the camera is only available as a kit and has a hard time focusing in low light.
The bottom line is the camera is a nice entry-level DSLR camera, but a pricy kit lens makes the camera too expensive at around $1299.95. The camera gets a 7.1 rating overall.

Wired Gadget Labs goes Hands on with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is a camera that has some nice features. It uses an intelligent auto mode that combines image stabilization, intelligent ISO, face detection and ambience-correcting scene detection.
This cam has an 8.1 megapixel CCD the ability to go up to ISO 1600 at full resolution and will be available in September for about $400. It seems like lots of camera for the money offering some features that many amateur photographers will like.
The only issue Wired found with the camera was that it fell about 60 -70% short of the claimed 400 images per charge target. That seems like a significant issue to me on a camera that uses a rechargeable battery.

These cameras will be released in September with an MSRP of $999.95 for the HDC-SD5 and a MSRP of $899.95 for the HDC-SX5. Is it just me or does it seem like every camera or camcorder launched lately is the world’s first, smallest or best for one reason or another. Panasonic Via I4U News

Panasonic Announces More Lumix Cameras
Panasonic is on a roll today with new digital camera announcements. This morning it was the 18x optical zoom Lumix and now we have the DMC-FX33 and the DMC-FX55. Both these camera models have 8.1 megapixel resolution and use the same anti-blurring filter as the DMC-FZ18 that we spoke of earlier. Both of these cameras use a 28mm lens and 3.6x optical zoom. Face recognition is included in both cameras with up to 15 faces at a time. The FX33 is very thin at only 22mm.
If the digital zoom is used with the optical zoom you can get a max of 5.7x zoom from both cameras. The difference between the two cameras appears to be size alone. The FX33 is thinner and uses a smaller LCD screen for the display. The FX33 will be available in silver, pink, brown, blue, and white. The FX55 will be available in silver, pink, and black. No pricing information is known at this time, but eh cameras should be on sale on August 25. Via Panasonic

Panasonic Announces New 18x Zoom Lumix Digi Cam

Panasonic has announced a new digital camera for Japan called the Lumix DMC-FZ18. The camera is an 8.1MP unit with a massive 18x optical zoom. The translation of the press release is stunningly poor, but it seems that the cam has a triple blurring prevention filter to remove hand shake from your images.
The camera is also able to do macro photography as well and has face recognition technology for composing your shots. Full manual operation is available, as well as automatic point and shoot functionality.
The lens is a 28mm wide angle unit and digital zoom is availabilities for a total possible zoom of 27.8x. The camera is set to launch on August 25 with silver or black color options. There is no word on pricing at this time. Via Panasonic

The New Panasonic DMC-LT
The Panasonic DMC-LT’s has rich features, but at more than rich price tag. Panasonic has teamed up with Leica and Olympus to create the DMC-L1. The 7.5 megapixel camera features SLR for live monitor view; a super fast f/2.8-3.5 Leica-branded lens. It’s fitted with the Mega OIS, Panasonic’s proprietary optical image stabilization system.Though the DMC-L1 was created to mimic the classic 35mm rangefinder camera, there are some obvious variances. The camera body measures 145 x 86.9 x 80mm, and with the lens attached weighs a hefty 1080g.
Even though it’s designed to look like a rangefinder, the L1 neither light weight nor slim. Beyond the retro-styled shutter speed dial, aperture ring, and the huge price tag of £1,349.99 (2,661.65 US) it bears no relation to a rangefinder camera at all. The good news is there’s a possibility that you can find online for around £1,150 (2,266.90 US).

Panasonic Lumix LX-2
We first mentioned the new line of Panasonic Lumix Cameras back in July. Well now we've got the latest scoop on the LX-2 with a review from dpreview. Quote: "Virtually all compact cameras use sensors with a 4:3 aspect ratio (giving a picture shape similar to a standard television). The LX2 has a sensor that is roughly the same height as a standard 7 megapixel CCD, but is considerably wider, giving the option of 16:9 shooting (16:9 is the shape of a widescreen television), and increasing the total number of pixels to just over 10 million."

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ1 Reviewed
LetsGoDigital has reviewed one of Panasonic's more ambitious price-conscious Lumix cameras, the DMC TZ1.Quote: "The Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ1 is a Mega zoom digital camera with compact measurements. Not so long ago, it would have been impossible to place such a large optical range in such a small casing. For example, the Panasonic FZ series has a zoom range of 12x but is a good deal larger than the Panasonic TZ1. The FZ series has more functionality and settings options, making it more suitable for enthusiastic amateur photographers. The Panasonic Lumix TZ1 is aimed more at convenience and the compact size obviously contributes to this greatly." Read the full review

Panasonic Lumix LS2 Review
digicamreview takes a look at the Panasonic Lumix LS2 digital camera.
Quote:
"The camera's 2" screen was good despite it's low resolution of 86,000 pixels, it appeared to have very good dynamic range in both photo mode and playback mode - the screen was clear, bright, with saturated and accurate colours.
The camera features a "High Angle" button that helps you view the image on the screen if you are holding the camera above you, this works surprisingly well. The camera is pocketable and fairly compact, but not ultra-compact. "

Panasonic LUMIX FX9 Review
Panasonic announced the Lumix FX9 in July.
DPReview has published a review of the new 6.4MP Panasonic Lumix camera.
Quote:
"It is a tribute to Panasonic's designers that they managed to squeeze as much as they did into the FX9's diminutive body, and there's no denying it is the kind of camera that simply begs to be taken everywhere you go. The screen is fantastic (and a huge improvement on it's predecessors), it's fast, fun to use and capable of surprisingly good results. "
