CNET Reviews the Samsung SC-D372 Camcorder
CNET recently looked at the Samsung SC-D372 camcorder and gave it an average overall rating of 5.4. the good points about the camera were that it is easy to shoot with in auto mode. The bad parts about the camera were poor video quality and the lack of buttons for menu navigation. The best part about the camcorder that I can see is the price of under $200.
The camcorder records to miniDV tapes and weighs only 15 ounces. Optical zoom is 34x and CNET says skip this camera and go for the budget Canon ZR850 instead.

Samsung Launches the i85 Compact Digital Camera
Another new camera announcement today was form Samsung who announced their new i85 compact camera. The i85 is an 8MP camera featuring 5x optical zoom, a three inch screen, and a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. The i85 also integrates advanced shake reduction, 14 scene modes and displays back video and music. One strange feature of the camera is the world tour Guide function that provides travel information on 4500 regions in 30 countries.
This information is supposed to help you plan a trip, personally I don't see someone going to the camera for information on an area they are traveling in unless a computer is no where to be found. The i85 measures in at 3.74” x 2.42” x 0.8” and carries an MSRP of $349. Via Samsung and I4U News

Samsung's New NV100
Samsung's New NV10 is a somewhat compact 10.3 megapixel digital camera with a 3X optical zoom. The camera is also equipped with ASR, Advanced Shake Reduction. The NV10 features TV quality MPEG-4 VGA (640x480) 30fps video recording (zoom and pause). A virtual dial mode is also offered for added convenience in controlling the camera.
So if you are a photographer that finds himself needing clearer indoor or low light pictures, then the $248 price tag on it isn't looking that bad.

The New Samsung GX-1S
LetsGoDitial has reviewed the new Samsung GX-1S, a new 6.1 megapixel digital SLR.Quote: "Samsung have taken a wise decision by keeping the bayonet identical to that of Pentax. As a result, the Samsung can also be equipped with Pentax lenses, even the very old ones, although it should be said that this will cause a slight loss of functionality, which means you will eventually lose out on a certain degree of user convenience."
"The Samsung GX-1S is delivered as a kit with a Schneider Kreuznach D-Xenon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, which looks suspiciously much like the kit lens that comes with the Pentax models. Either way, it offers an attractive range, which is the equivalent of 28-84mm with a 35mm camera. The focal length multiplier is 1.5x, which is the same as that of the Nikon digital SLR cameras. We had the opportunity to submit the Samsung GX-1S to some extensive testing during a longer period of time. The results can be read in the following Samsung GX-1S digital SLR review. "
